MASSAGE THERAPY – BASIC

Duration: 4 sessions, 3 hours per session (TOTAL 12 Hours)

Course Description:

This course of study is based on the principles of Swedish massage that provide the solid foundation for other massage modalities to build upon. POWER Technical Institute massage therapy students are trained using the Beck methodology system, which utilizes verbal, written, visual and hands-on instruction throughout the classroom. The program offers hands-on practice and theory generally presented in an alternating schedule so the theory portion is followed by hands-on demonstrations and supervised practice whenever possible.

Course Objective:

After 4 sessions, the students will be able to:

Upon completion of the 12 hour course, the student will have been fully trained, evaluated and approved of their technical abilities; and will have achieved or exceeded a 75% GPA for the academic (theory) portion of the program. Students must also achieve approximately 30 hours of hands-on practice that incorporates both classroom training and supervised. After graduation from the program, it is strongly recommended that our students take one of the licensing or certification exams (NCII)
